Make The Tea! (.com)
posted by chris on December 4th, 2008
As is the case for a number of successful businesses around the UK, tea is an important, sacred and much argued over commodity here at Netbasic.
It’s literally the fuel behind what we do everyday, a great screen-breaker and soother of stresses, but determining who makes the tea is quite another story…
Lacking an official tea boy (or girl for that matter) or an on tap supply/drip, we have to take turns making the tea for everyone, and this can lead to what amounts to all out war in the office, usually resulting in something like this (with varying levels of ‘language‘):
Who did it last?
I made it last!
No you didn’t, I made it last!
Yes I Did!
No You Didn’t!
It’s YOUR turn!
Just Do It!
And then silence until someone actually decides they need a cuppa and does it for everyone
Thankfully though, this should no longer be the case thanks to good ol‘ web 2.0 and makethetea.com
We now have an independent way of logging the tea making, fairly deciding who should makeĀ it and publicly naming and shaming the slackers via our group’s stats page: http://www.makethetea.com/#/group/1179/statistics/
Not only that, but it works like a league table and as of the time of writing we’re 600th in the Global Brew Rankings!
So no more arguments, no more indecision, just make a brew request and let the web do its magic!
We’ll be at No. 1 in no time ![]()
